Playing

Phil has a busy and successful playing career in West End musicals but also on tour in the UK and around the world.  He frequently partners this role with keyboard programming. 

Since 2006 Phil has been keyboard player for Sir Cliff Richard and can be seen on the Here and Now, Time Machine, Bold As Brass, Soulicious, Still Reelin’ and A Rockin’ and Cliff 75th Birthday DVDs. He has also performed on numerous occasions with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra; London Musical Theatre Orchestra; Royal Northern Sinfonia; Royal Philharmonic Orchestra; Showbiz Pops Orchestra; Trio Fuego as well as for Ronnie Corbett OBE, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr., Lamont Dozier, Jaki Graham, James Ingram, Brian May CBE, Olivia Newton John, Elaine Paige OBE, Freda Payne, Percy Sledge, Marti Webb, Toyah Willcox, Dave Willetts, Gary Wilmot and many others.

Phil has played in numerous bands working in varying genres and has recorded for the BBC; D Sharp; EMI; First Night Records; Really Useful Group; Shed Productions and Universal at venues including Abbey Road, Angel and Sphere studios and live at London’s O2 Arena, the Royal Albert Hall, the Sydney Opera House and Wembley Arena.

Phil’s own current keyboard setup includes a Korg Kronos 88, M50-88 and M50-73; Roland Fantom XR (+expansions) and V-Synth; Hammond XK-1 and Neo Ventilator; Dave Smith Instruments Mopho Keyboard, Creamware Pro 12; SonicCore Minimax and others.
